I am scathing over the last episode of True Blood (3.06) and a new interview with Alan Ball.
In this past episode Eric basically told Sookie he cares nothing for her and demanded that she not get in his way. At first I though he was doing this so that the other vamps in the house could not use her as leverage against him but if they could overhear what he was saying than he surely wouldn’t have hinted that he had an agenda with Russell. Once again Ball is making Eric look like the bad guy and then conversely making Bill (who has acted like a sleaze and has been keeping secrets from Sookie since the beginning of the relationship) look all angelic. As Eric yelled at Sookie and made her cry about how much she hated him, Bill is being tortured by Lorena so that we feel bad for him. Puke!!! I HATE, HATE, HATE when they mess with the Eric character.. he is the hero in the stories, not lame ass Bill!
Bill’s emotions make him the stupid. Yes he can crank out a tear to make a girl swoon but he also gave himself away to Russell cause he couldn’t get that shit under control. Eric on the other hand knew better than to betray himself and Sookie by showing emotional attachment. I am beginning to wonder why Bill was valued by the Queen at all… he is not the brightest bulb in the box. His stupidity almost got he and Sookie killed.
Then in an interview with TV Guide Alan Ball had this to say:
“It will shake the very core of their relationship,” says executive producer Alan Ball of the shocking incident that wounds the couple in Season 3. “Bill and Sookie’s love for each other is authentic and they want to make it work. But it might get harder and harder.”
Ugh… Alan Ball is always making comments about how Bill and Sookie belong together and it irks me to no end. I don’t care if you have a gay man crush on Ashley from GWTW or Mr. Collins from Pride and Prejudice.. you just don’t rewrite the story to make them the hero.
Stephen Moyer said this in the interview:
“I can’t get into slinging matches about who’s better for Sookie because it’s just ridiculous,” he laughs. “Bill is for Sookie, the love of her life.”
No Stephen.. you are for Anna, but Bill is not for Sookie. No way, no day and Alan Ball is going to piss off the majority of True Blood fans if he continues to pretend otherwise.
Just look at the photo above. Sookie is sitting next to Bill but where is her hand… and her affection? With Eric.
Alan Ball… this week in my opinion.. you suck ass.. and not in a good way.
